Olympic Peninsula all-day kayak and mountain bike tour

The Northwest Adventure Tour is the most holistic Olympic Peninsula experience we offer. Spend the morning sea kayaking along the beautiful coastline and the afternoon mountain biking among towering trees, with a delicious lunch provided in between. We will coordinate all the details and provide you with all the equipment and expert guides for this full-day adventure. The trip starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. 

The Paddle

Explore the beautifully rugged shoreline of the Strait of Juan de Fuca with the majestic Olympic Mountains as a backdrop. This adventure provides great opportunities for seeing a wide variety of coastal wildlife, from bald eagles soaring overhead to colorful sea stars and anemones below the surface of the crystal clear water. A curious river otter or harbor seal has also been known to make an appearance from time to time.

  • Required experience: None! Just an adventure-oriented, positive mindset!

  • Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours on the water

  • To optimize safety and guest experience we strive to use tandem kayaks for all guests. It’s possible that a member of your party will be paired up in a tandem with a guest from a different party (this also applies to one person bookings)

Things to bring

  • Non-cotton shorts/leggings/bathing suit and non-cotton top

  • Water shoes (optional)

  • Snack/ drinking water

  • Sunglasses or hat

The Pedal

Get ready to ride a masterfully built ribbon of single-track trail among the towering trees of a temperate rainforest, with opportunities for spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains to the south, and Vancouver Island, British Columbia, to the north. 

This trail, and the optional spur trails, offer fun and challenging terrain for a wide range of riders, whether new to their mountain biking journey or seasoned riders. Expect a six to eight-mile ride with about 800 feet of elevation gain.

  • Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours riding time

  • Fitness level: 3/5

  • Difficulty level: 2+/5

  • Required experience: Recent cycling experience and/or a level of comfort on a bike and good baseline fitness. Mountain bike experience is a plus but not required. The tour will begin with a mini-lesson covering the basics of mountain biking.

Things to bring

  • Closed-toe shoes are required

  • Comfortable clothing, preferably moisture-wicking

  • Snacks/Drinking Water (we have options at the shop)

  • Sunglasses

  • Light windbreaker/raincoat
